Ryota has been my favorite character since the beggining of Mirai-hen, I love his insecure personality, and how he always tries to help people but just ends up messing things up
I indentify with him because of this traits, and also for the fact that he loves anime and is an animator.
**Spoilers**
And I also wish they don't kill him off in the hope episode, he still needs to learn how to think for himself and stop being manipuladed by everyone, I think it would be perfect to end his plot with him paying for the despair he caused, and realizing he doesn't have to be like Naegi, if he just be himself and do things by his own will, everything will turn out ok.

Yes he is the best! And I also have a headcanon for him. I think that in order to find out how to counter the despair video, he had to watch it fully himself. Which led to him temporarily falling into despair.

I saw you were making a DR related fanfic, I didn't have the oportunity to read it yet, but it looks interesting. I created some ocs too, and I plan to make a visual novel with them, maybe one of your ocs could make a cameo, or be mentioned

My faves from the series are Celestia, Tsumiki, Seiko, Gundham and Chiaki. But I also really like Ishimaru, Owada, Hajime, Ibuki, Junko, Leon, and Nagito.
I'm super excited for DRV3 also. My faves from that so far are Tenko, Maki, Kaito, Gonta, Kokichi, and Angie. I love them all though so far tbh.

Own version, it will be in a new enviroment, and will have new students. Of course, I'm still just in the first steps, writing story, finishing the characters designs,etc. but I'm confident I'll be able to make it.
It will be situated in a au, where hope does no longer exist, and every student, including the protagonist, are trying to become the next ultimates despair, like the kids from sdr2. I don't know for sure if I'll add the canon characters yet, like in a cameo, but if I do that, I'll put my own version of them as well.
It will take a long time to finish it tho :')

As I said, there's only despair left, it's like an au where hope lost, so you're either despair or dead. The remnants of despair created an academy to choose only the greatest ultimates to be their "heir".

I really like how you drew the monitors here along with Ryota's tired expression. It really shows how he's been through so much already that he's just tired of it all. I do hope he gets a happy ending.

I'm not a fan of happy endings, nor bad endings. I think neutrals are nice cause they change depending on each point of view, like some might think it's bad and some might think it's good.

And while I admit he is doing something very questionable, you can't help but feel sorry for him for what he did. I admit during DR3 he pretty much whined and did nothing about anything, he was still taken advantage of by nearly everyone. Junko used his craft to help plunge the world into despair and Tengan subjected him to a killing game to motivate him. For him, it makes sense to do something this drastic.
And I guess that makes sense. Neutral endings do offer more opportunities for the characters.

I just want him to change, I want him to stop being manipulated. And I think that'll only be possible if he realizes the consequences of believing in hope.
Cause until now, everything he did in the name of hope ended in despair :/
