Technically, according to the official "Power Rangers" bible, the Gold Zeo Staff IS the morpher for the Gold Zeo Ranger. Ordinarily carried around by Trey of Triforia; when Jason was needed to assume the Gold Ranger powers, since it would've been very suspicious for Jason to carry around the Gold Zeo Staff all the name, Trey made it so that the Gold Zeo staff could magically LIVE inside of Jason. And whenever Jason needed to morph, all he had to do was cross his arms, say "Gold Ranger Power," and he would morph. Just thought you might like to know that.

Hell naw, he didn't!!!! I decided to check out all the gold rangers since now, I'm loving on Antonio, the current Gold ranger of the Samurai Series. Jason was one of my favs!

Well to be fair, Jason was a martial artist, not a government trained rescue worker.
Admittedly, not all firemen would charge at a monster and punch it, but considering the training they go through, i wouldn't be surprised if one did.
Hell, I'm surprised Carter never took a rescue axe (Standard issue) and went 'Here's CARTER!' on the monsters ass.

Indeed...because he's Jason! (As awesome/life-inspiring his portrayer, Austin St. John, is, Jason can't beat Carter.
