Random little drabble just cuz:
The wind bit bitterly at his skin as it trembled past him. The cold like the zap from an icey sprite, causing mischiveous fun in the desert night. However, there was something about this chill that was different from the other cold nights of Egypt. There was something... Ominous? No, that wasn't the word he was looking for... Expectant? Yes, that was more like it. It felt like every grain of sand about him was holding their inanimate breaths in anticipation. For what? Another gust of the frigid breeze caressed his tanned skin and ruffled his thin cloak. He looked to the sky in wonder, watching the bright lights of the Egyptian night wink down at him from the heavens. Suddenly, a sensation soft as the tip of a falcons feather, but as pinchingly cold as a pinprick, was felt upon his cheek. He raised his hand in bewilderment to wipe whatever the substance may be away, but when he passed it across his face, there was nothing but a drop of cold water. What was the meaning of this wintery rain in the middle of his desert? Another 'drop' landed upon his other shoulder, then one on his forehead, then his arm. Next thing he knew he was surrounded in a softly floating sheet of white that was cascading down from the stars. His left hand still lifted, reached out, palm up, in the hopes of capturing this strange and foriegn... Whatever it was. As it fell ever thicker, the Pharaoh's hand filled with delicate white flakes of ice, but they were soft, not harsh like he expected. It blanketed the sand in a veil that caused the desert earth to sparkle and glisten in the starlight ever more. The whole situation perplexed him, but he figured he'd enjoy the experience and then question the gods of their behavior another time. At that moment, hand held out in waiting, the great Pharaoh Atem gazed at the sky in rapture, looking younger than he was with child-like wonder in his bright eyes. For the first time in a long time, he relaxed and let all things in the world be, allowing these cold, but strangely soothing white specks carry him off into a new land where responsibility and grief held no burden on his shoulders...

(And of course I forgot to date it as usual OTL)
