It's the first time I've been there, really impressive place. I would have like to have seen it in full snow but there would have been no getting up there! Think I'll return in summer when the greenery's out.

In summer I think it needs to be an afternoon shot for the light to come into the falls. Yeah no way of driving up their in snow, coming back down would be frightening. Have you checked out Stainforth Beck just down the road, a real beauty for water flow shots.

No, I went on to Janets Foss after here, will have a look for it when I go back. Thanks for the tip!

Park in Stainforth in the visitor car park, not too expensive.
From the car park go back to the main road and turn right.
After a few minutes or less take the turning on your left ( dog hill brow ) and follow the narrow road to a narrow bridge, the beck is on your left.
Be careful near the edge, bit slippy at times, if it looks black it is black ice, OK in summer but be careful in winter. Take your tripod.
You can drive down dog hill brow but the bridge is narrow, I have seen two cars regret the drive.
As you've been to Janets Foss did you go to Gordale Scar up the road.... great place after rain.
