I've never had that close a connection with anybody. You were really lucky to have such a great guy as a teacher and friend.

I am certain that he knew how much you admired and cared for him. Without a doubt in my mind, and it's obvious that he had so much faith and fondness for you too.
Just this picture, and reading your journal, actually made me feel teary, and I don't even know you all that well or him at all. This picture has just got so much power behind it's simplicity to strike something in the heart of those onlooking, it's a truely beautiful, emotive piece.
The composition, with so much negative space around you two, makes the both of you the focus, and the only things that matter here.
Very heartfelt, and genuine...
I'm so sorry for your loss, I don't know what to say in way of comfort, but I just know that knowing you enriched his life as much as you knowing him.

It's nice to see you have a conduit for your grief beyond just expressing it verbally. I hope you feel better soon about the whole thing.

i'm glad you have ways to express those thoughts and feelings. a lot of people don't, and that makes the grief last a lot longer and hurt a lot more. it's just nice to see someone who can process the grief in a better way than the rest of us.

i'm glad too. i think it would really take a toll on me if i couldn't get the grief out in some physical way and it just kept building up inside of me... it's a shame there are people out there that don't realize they can do that. i think they actually encourage creativity in some grief counseling, but i'm not sure. if not, they should!

i think they actually do encourage creativity in some, but i'm not sure that everyone can just do that when they're feeling sad. i wish they could -- it'd make the world a little bit better.

My heart goes out to you, I lost my uncle a year or so ago and never got to say goodbye. My aunt told me that a day or so before he passed away he was asking about me . . .
This song seems appropriate. I'm sorry it's long but it really seems to fit your description of him.
"Thanks for all you've done
I've missed you for so long
I can't believe you're gone, and
You still live in me
I feel you in the wind
You guide me constantly
I never knew what it was to be alone, no
'Cause you were always there for me
You were always home waiting
But now I come home
And I miss your face so
Smiling down on me
I close my eyes to see
And I know
You're a part of me
And its your song
That sets me free
I sing it while
I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight
'Cause it comforts me
I carry the things that remind me of you
In loving memory of the one that was so true
You were as kind as you could be
And even though you're gone
You still mean the world to me
I never knew what it was to be alone, no
'Cause you were always there for me
You were always home waiting
But now I come home
And its not the same no
It feels empty and alone
I can't believe you're gone
And I know
You're a part of me
And it's your song
That sets me free
I sing it while
I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight
'Cause it comforts me
I'm glad He set you free from sorrow
But I'll still love you more tomorrow
And you'll be here
With me still
All you did you did with feeling
And you always found a meaning
And you always will
And you always will
And you always will
And I know
You're a part of me
And it's your song
That sets me free
I sing it while
I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight
'Cause it comforts me"
