Laffo, you're kind of reading this all wrong. (And are acting unnecessarily condescending?) I'm an atheist and I drew this inspired by the christian swedes taking over the pagan Finland.. which I feel critical about, because while christianity might have good intentions, it still destroys culture and mythology while it conquering the religions of other countries. Finland still has most of its holidays in pagan roots, but has still forgotten most of it's holidays and celebrations and traditions, which makes me really intensely sad.
Also, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I much prefer the moose, because it is huge, animalistic, intimidating, full spirituality that stems from the bogs and misty rooks of finnish forests. I associate christianity with clean tradinitional plastic beauty, with golden decorations and traditionally beautiful features, which is completely against something that I find beautiful. That's what I was trying to say with this image.
I didn't reply to the pagan comments because I agree with them. I didn't have anything to add other than, "yay."

I apologize for seeming condescending, I've recently been going through some battles which most would say I threw myself into with christians over the truth about their religion which they refuse to see or at the very least research from non-christian historical writings. I thank you for elaborating more on my concerns that I didn't know about from the image above. I would like to kindly ask that you possibly put this information in the description so others who may be like me don't get the wrong idea and you don't have to deal with the ranting and raving. ^_^'
I'm now just wondering why you didn't reply with that to the others to let them know that you think that of them?

That sounds pretty douchey to me. You could just have your religion in peace and let others have theirs. It's a very personal issue to people and you're not really contributing anything beneficial to anyone by attacking them for their personal choices.
Everyone else in the comments got the right idea ie. that I am critisizing christianity, so I think this is an issue of reading comprehension and willingness to see negativity towards yourself on your part.

I wouldn't associate Christianity with the stag, personally. I would associate it with the Kraken or some sort of cephalopod with many tentacles strangling the life out of the old pagan deities. A moose could beat a stag any day. Not a monster though....

A very evocative image! I ponder on the expansion of Christianity in the northern realm sometimes. I find it despicable to convert people with force, I've heard many stories of when the Vikings were christened. I believe Christianity have in many cases got rid of their dark heritage of dominance and murder and I know many Christians who're a likeable sort. But I can't stop feeling that the old ones really trampled over beautiful things. True, they assimilated some of it.
What bugs me is that the victor always writes history. I remember as a kid me and my classmates were invited to a church were we had a small LARP about the prosecution of the Christians in the Roman empire. We were Christians who had to hide from the Roman guards. And true, that was a horrible event in history. But I think they should mention their dark side too, acknowledge that they have both been a victim and an offender.

This is awesome, in meaning and execution, and I love the aureola-horns of the “Christian Stag”, though I probably feel more fondness towards the Pagan Moose.
If there's one thing I don't quite like, it's how evident the brush marks are in the bottom, and if you happen to look at the background, it's very simple and it's not even clear what it is. I'd fix that.
But kudos, keep working and getting better. : D

Haha yes I got bored with the background after getting the cervidaes done, and I just wanted to get everything else over with.. because I'm impatient and just want to get my ideas done c_c haha something I should totally work on. Thank you for the critique!

But no matter how hard the Stag may try, the Moose will never die. One day, the Stag will tire and fall, then the Moose will retake what was his to begin with.
Really getting sick of Christians bashing on Pagans.

This is an awesome piece. Firstly, I've never seen this kind of naturalistic metaphor for the battle for religious dominance, and it's an interesting way to look at the subject. The Moose and the Stag are drawn not only beautifully, but fully carrying through the weight of the concepts they represent. That the shapes of those two animals are mercurial and the background gauzy only adds to the dream-like quality of the piece. Overall, it feels like I'm watching a religious vision. Very nice work.

Might've helped to accentuate the "foreign"-ness of the deer by making it sharper in colour, yeah.. this is just my lazy way of colouring everything digitally though olol sob
