Description This wee mushroom was incredibly tiny. Only about a cm tall.
I love being able to see all the textures in a macro photo that you can't see with the naked eye.
Look at the delicate twisty texture in the stem.

How many of us fail to see the tiny beauty that hides in plain sight?

Thankyou! The details in the stem were too small to see with the eye, I only noticed it when I viewed the image.

Oh wow! Beautiful photo.
I just started biochemistry at university and we've had a series of lectures on biodiversity as a unit in this first semester. We only had three lectures on fungi but they're amazing, and far more interesting than I would ever have realised. I now have a slightly greater appreciation of this photo (and of your name too ).

I love finding little "delicates" like this.
you get to capture something that at any moment could be destroyed with the simplest of happenings, hard wind, twigs falling from trees, misplaced footsteps, but then instead you come up and were lucky enough to notice it, and have a camera.
Great shot! Makes me want to go hiking some more!

You got it so right! The tiniest of gems, hidden in the grass.
At the moment, actually, there are so many like these that I can't keep up with the photographs. I might be out again tomorrow getting myself wet and grassy and covered in bugs to capture more wee gems.

your wording reminded me of this, It probably isn't the right season but if you get a headlamp and go out into a forest at night when the spiders have been hatching, you can see the eye shine from each one. Its like the forest has been littered with tiny emeralds!

I know, not what we were talking about...

So many kinds of fabulous.
