Description this is a study done in ball point pen that i am most pleased with!

these hand were drawn from imagination/memory.

i used structure principals that i'd normally use when drawing from life or other reference.

though normally when i draw fingers or segments i illustrate then as cylinders,

this time i decided to try drawing them more squared.

i'm fairly pleased with this approach.

i redrew a few of the hands but left them un-rendered to show how i go about the basic construction of the form.

wow it's awesome! I haven't practised hands at all, despite the fact it's a subject I have a lot difficulty in...

don't we all! hands are NOT easy!

i'm ashamed that i've neglected my hand drawing abilities from what they once were.

there was a point where that's ALL i'd ever draw!!!!!!

fill up pages and pages upon pages in a great number of sketch pads of numerous hands!!!!

BUT i did have to learn how to draw other things besides JUST hands

and even though my hand drawings may may get rusty at times i still have the understanding of them and

can brush up on them fairly quickly.

i've got to make it a point to do more hand studies!

i just LOVE drawing them!!!!

well I mainly think about hands when it comes to an unfulfilled drawing when I have got them all shity...at school ~you know when I make doodles out of boredom~ I've started practising figure drawing, and it kidda helps with the whole anatomic thingy

it you truly want to get good at drawing hands i suggest doing what i first did

get yourself a copy of either George Bridgman's Constructive anatomy www.amazon.com/Constructive-An…

or one of his many other books www.amazon.com/Bridgmans-Compl…

www.amazon.com/Hundred-Hands-D…

the man was a master of drawing hands!

i'd copy his hand drawings like a FIEND!!!!
