They seem to have just come out of a coal mine for a bath! Cute birds, and great picture.
Branta bernicla winters regularly but not in large numbers in SantoΓ±a (N of Spain), where I usually watch them.Β

I love these geese. Only ever saw them in person once, in Cape Elizabeth Maine. Such handsome birds. I notice there seem to be some stockier and other more gracile individuals. Do you know if this is a gender difference?

I'm not too sure, actually. Sometimes they even look different because, for example, the ones up front could be tucked down a bit as opposed to the one in the back. I notice it on Canada Geese when I am looking for the smaller Cackling Goose mixed in a flock.

I am extremely happy with it. It's very versatile and no too cumbersome (as opposed to something larger or a prime lens)
