I've seen representations of phaser beams that were red, blue, amber, or green.

Not trying to disrespect your image! I think it's great. I just don't remember the TOS era Enterprise having any color Phaser Beam aside from red. I'll need to watch all the episodes again to see if I'm right or wrong. More fun for me!

Oh, no problem! I couldn't remember when I was creating this image so I looked up "phaser beam" on Google images and got pictures of several different colored beams. I don't know if there's some sort of system that different colors equal different strengths or what...

Though I have not seen or heard anything to that effect, it may well be that there is a correlation to strength in different colored beams. Still the only phasers I have seen that had strength settings in which we saw the beam itself was from the personal phasers carried by the officers and crew, and those were normally the same color whether they were set to stun or kill. I suppose a bit of research could not hurt. Perhaps Memory Alpha would have something about it.
