Well...uh she IS a NiGHTS FC but her and NiGHTS look nothing alike.

I have a commission of the two of them standing side by side. They don't look anything alike aside from having similar colors.
this is a rude comment to make considering I'm the owner of this FC and I don't like it when people make compairsions cause they are rude.

Listen buddy since I can tell you don't make fan characters a whole lot.
Comparing a character to a canon character on design basis alone (not the fact they are the same species that's a whole another ball game), is extremely rude to the character designer and the artist because it implies a hint of copying. This is why people don't like hearing "X looks like Y" because it inherently undermines the person's creativity level.
This is what you did, and what the other person did which I corrected them on. It's not that I'm annoyed over the fact that the acknowledge she's the same species as NiGHTS it's calling her similar to NiGHTS design. That's why its rude as fuck and why most people don't like it. This isn't about my FC looking like a Nghtmaren, this is about her looking like NiGHTS which she doesn't share any similarity's to in design aside from being a Nightmaren, and having a similar color pallet. Now please don't make this sort of mistake again.

First off, it's rude to assume I meant any ill intent and secondly, when was this about you? This was a dispute settled between me and the other person, and then you jumped in with your "well akcually!" statement to which I told you exactly why this kind of stuff is rude towards character makers.
Thridly, I wasn't seething, "mildly annoyed" and "seething" imply two different things especially, since whenever I get commissions these types of comments tend to pop up about this character of mine. I was not boiling mad, just minorly annoyed at something that keeps happening. So rather than blow up which you ironically did Mr. R/Iamverysmart, I just explained to the person that it's not a very nice thing to shoot a comparison about someone's personal FC to a canon character regardless.
To put an example:
Let's say you have a hedgehog Sonic fan character, he's literally nothing like Sonic in design or personality, sharing only one thing: he has the color blue in his pallet and that he's a Mobian hedgheog. When you get commissions of your character you get half a dozen comments saying "Wow is this Sonic?" or something along those lines when honestly there's literally nothing alike other than they share the same species of Mobian, and one color. It's pretty rude wouldn't you say?
Anyways, I've already explained my point. I think all you really want to do is make inflammatory comments about how I corrected someone on my fc and how I didn't take pleasure in hearing that she reminds someone of NiGHTS. Regardless of if she is a Nightmaren that is one of the most insulting things you can say about someone's personal character now please leace me alone.
