Here's a book cover illustration that didn't quite make the cut. These things happen every now and then, and you learn to move forward from it. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed working on this with the art director and getting to bring the author's character to life!

such a shame this didn't make it - I would have loved to have read a book with this cover on it! The atmosphere, in the soft grey colours, the strong yellows, this character looking ruthless and determined, her hair whipping in the wind, the hints at the mighty golden dragon - maybe this is not the sort of atmosphere the book was going for but I really dig this aesthetic and emotion in this!
