It had been a while since Byr had arrived, and she was nearing her first year in age. Lia had taken a liking to the young mare and was often found out with her in the fields.
Today, though, there was a new arrival.
Xander had been on the main land, looking for a pony to bring back with him. Mae's niece would be moving to the farm with them shortly, and none of the other horses would be suitable for a little girl like her. They wanted something young, so she could learn how to care for her pony and help with the training where possible.
He'd returned two days later, with a little black colt trailing along behind him rather contently.
"Guys, this is Quinn!" he introduced, gesturing to the inquisitive pony "He's a pure Newfoundland Pony, growing to approximately thirteen hands, and he's a Dressage slash English Pleasure slash Hunter prospect." he informed them.
Mae was positively smitten with the colt, slipping him a few treats and stroking his fuzzy little face. Anika looked between the trio, nodding in approval "Fabulous, I'm not going to ask how much you've cost me and I think it's best it stay that way." she replied before heading back for the office.
Later that day, she returned to bring some of the horses in to find Byr and Lia following Quinn around the field next to the house. He was trying to figure out the best way to approach the older mares, and Byr was more than happy to let him get close. That alone was odd for the filly, who usually took her grazing very seriously, as Lia had quickly learned in her time with the other.
