Commissioned piece for a client who wanted her stepdaughter drawn as a fairy for a birthday gift. She has kindly allowed me to also upload to deviantART prints so that she could purchase them through dA.
I had a reference for her face; but otherwise drawn from my head. I also used a caustic generator for some of the water caustics.
Here is Kara talking to Wisscha the Fish, and gathering information to help her on her next quest. She's had a moment of thought, and her sly smile reveals her moment of "aha!".

I don't really understand digital painting, but this is absolutely lovely! I really like the fish, and the way she is reflected in the pool, and the little touches like the flower on the left.

I have seen just right now the process... and It's awesome to know that It's clearly equal as to do this with a brush and a paper, handmade work I mean. (I study illustration.)

Sure, glad to hear you like the process. I paint traditionally and digitally, to me the only difference is prep/cleanup time and cost... the rest is all red apple vs. green apple.

Well, I wanted to try an underground scene, I figured I haven't seen much of that... so I imagined an underground stream, with a little cave.. and the fairy (the little girl I was asked to draw) has little suckers on her fingers and toes so she doesn't fall into the water...
I make up a whole story in my head, that's sort of how it goes...
