Description I made these for upcoming craft fairs.
First off, I used old, tattered books that would have been thrown away anyway, pleeeaaase don't tell me how sad you find it that I tore up books to make these! I DO NOT use books that are still readable! I regularly go through thrift stores and garage sales to find books that are in really bad shape.

The lighter boxes are made with "The Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship Of The Ring" (an after-movie version that was missing a few pages).
The brownish boxes are made with "Shakespeare - King Henry The Fourth - Part One".
The boxes that have some map parts on them are made with "Merriam Webster's Dictionary and Atlas", a really old version that had pages falling out of it. The pages are actually so old that they rip and break really really easily, so these were difficult to use.

All boxes are sealed with a high gloss sealer.

If you are interested in buying these, please send me a note.

Materials used:
wooden boxes, book pages, high gloss varnish, acrylics

I like these boxes decorated with pieces of old books, the effect is pretty cool

are you selling these? I was wanting something to put my jewlery instead of the wire women that I have to hang stuff off of.

I do sell them, but depending on location the shipping cost might be rather high. They go for $20 at the moment (and all three map boxes have found new owners)

thats the way to do it though, to make the shipping higher then the price itself. Thats how I would do it if i were to sell my jewelery. Its very pretty I might buy one this weekend. I think they are awesome and the fact that you've used them from old books. Very neat!

All stuff in my etsy shop is free shipping since they are small/flat/light items and only cost a couple bucks. A box like this would probably be around $10 for shipping, though.

i really love these. i think its great that you are recycling books. better than someone just throwing them in the trash and ending up at the dump, now they are beautiful works of art!

Thank you I love recycling stuff that would usually be tossed out, there's always something that can be done with it!

Thank you I am working on a big batch of bookmarks with the same design, they were really popular last time I made them.

Thanks!
There's no lining, it's just painted and varnished.
