Description Time passes much too quickly
When we're together, laughing
Wish I could sing it to you
Whoa-oh-whoa-oh
Wish I could sing it to you...

Title was inspired by the wonderful Chicago song, Beginnings.

This is my beautiful Yukon, laughing as we played in the yard in Dexter NY. I didn't know at the time that this would be among the very last photos I was to ever take of him. Yukon had a very agressive strain of cancer in his right eye that resulted in a very nasty tumor. It started to really bother him as time went on, and the tumor grew larger.

My family and I lost our wonderful companion of twelve years on May 4th, 2006, when we decided that it would be wise to ease Yukon's obvious suffering by putting him to sleep. At the vet's, I and my family stayed with him till the very end, which was so hard. But what better place for such a wonderful creature than heaven?

He knew that what we had decided for him was best. Even in his last moments, he tried to stop me from crying by giving me a last hug and cleaning my tear-stained face.

I still miss him, still wait for him at the door when I leave for him to give me one of his hugs. I still cry for him, wishing I could have done something, anything to save him.

But denying him heaven? Never.

Yukon, my wonderful baby brother, I miss you, but I do now and will always love you so much.

There's no better picture that I've taken, I think, that shows just how happy Yukon always seemed to be, even if the odds weren't totally in his favor. However, he did receive his diagnosis in October of 05, and we were told that the vets didn't expect him to make it to Christmas. Yukon, stubborn till the end, pulled through till May of 06. How inspirational!

What a beautiful spirit he had...

What a pretty dog.

(BTW, I'm a Chicago fan, too. It's nice to know there's someone else in my generation who shares my musical tastes.)

Oh what a wonderful spirit that dog has. He is most definetly flying among the clouds now and playing in God's fields. I know he loves you and is thinking of you. That is so beautiful to remember him in this way. God Bless you for your love and compassion for such a sweet dog

Always when you submit photo's of Yukon I am watching them for several minutes. Your dog is so beautiful. And I am so sorry for you that he's gone now... It's bad that the best things in life always have to leave you first. I hope, one time, you will see your Yukon again.

I hope you'll be allright. I will miss your pictures of your dog.

Yes, i know what you felt at the vet and now, i had to do the same with my two dogs, and it hard to stay with them knowing you'll never see them again.
But the world doesn't stop for this, and one must continue on and endure the pain, you know that his in a better place now, and while you remember him, he'll be still alive
