I knew they'll be friends someday, I like both of them and their strategy, as my theory suggests:

Sonic has an amazing ability to run as fast as the sound (the name explains it), and his fight manner consists on evade and attack strongly, with a whole arsenal of spins and quick punches and kicks, not to forget he uses the emeralds great powers to take a super form that increases all of his abilities with even new powers in hand and acquiring a shinny gold color, and above all, his sense of justice and integrity with his allies and friends alike are endless.

In the other hand, Sora's "key" to his fighting style lies in his weapon that allows him to increase his speed, strength and magic, even with all the knowledge in his journeys, he can dominate more than one form, changing his attire colors and having more and advanced powers, but it also depends in the light and purity on his heart, his friendships, and the eternal trust he receives from them makes him fight for the right thing, defending everybody from doom.
