Description "But don't fret, small one. . . . My child shall guide you." -- Troupe Master Grimm

I kinda knocked myself out on this one, and it's a little wonky, whoops. It's not perfect, but it's cute, so enjoy!
Download here.

I made this using the game's sprites and a few sounds (Hollow Knight, by Team Cherry ). Once upon a time, I started out with the standard shimeji codes (based on the Kilkakon shimeji ), which I then edited to oblivion. Plus I snatched a few lines from a random 56-shime version.
In short, you need to keep all the behavior/action files together for this to work properly.

FAQ:
>How do I get this?
You need three things:
  • Grimmchild's file (Hollow Knight - Grimmchild ), keep the conf and sound folders nested inside
  • A shimeji program
  • Java
  • Once you've got all three, open your generic shimeji file, open the Img folder, and add in Grimmchild's file (Hollow Knight - Grimmchild).  If the original shimeji images are loose, they need to be put into a separate folder. Every character should have their own file within the Img folder.
Run the program (Shimeji-ee.jar), then right-click the icon---it may be hidden---click Settings, and click "Choose Shimeji."

    > Does this run on PC or mac?
This runs on PC. I do not have a mac and can't tell you anything about that.

    > Is this shimeji calm or mischievous?
This is a mischievous shimeji! Grimmchild will jump around, throw windows, and chase your mouse cursor. The frequencies are all set to low. However. This is where things get a little wonky. Every time I tested it with multiplying allowed, Grimmchild would end up crashing the program (which . . . is probably in character), so I decided to set the frequency to 0. The animation still exists, so you can call more if you want, just. Be warned.
Also, Grimmchild has a tendency to get stuck on your cursor after catching it, and I for the life of me can't figure out why. If this happens, just left-click anywhere on the screen and he'll let go. If you'd rather not deal with it at all, you can open the behavior file and set the frequency to 0 (search "GrabMouse").
For turning off any of the other mischievous behaviors, the Kilkakon shimeji has a little toggle menu (right click the icon and click "Allowed Behaviors").

    > The program still uses the generic icon. How do I change that?
The program only uses one icon. You'll have to replace the generic icon (in the Img folder) with the character icon (Grimmchild's is included in his folder).

    > How do I adjust the sound?
If you want to turn the sound off, the Kilkakon shimeji has a little toggle menu (right click the icon, click "Allowed Behaviors").
If you want to adjust the volume, you need to open Grimmchild's action file (in conf). Search for "Sound" and cycle through the search results until you find the one you want. Volume 0 is considered default, but I personally found that to be a little loud.
This is the tutorial I watched, if you would like a video of what I'm talking about (x ).
Make sure you don't add any extra spaces when tinkering with the code!

    > Why doesn't the sound always play?
Older shimeji programs may not be able to play sound.
As for the Kilkakon version, I really don't know. Sometimes it plays just fine, sometimes it's delayed, and sometimes there's no sound at all.
    It is a mystery.  :bademoticon:

    > Why does the shimeji sometimes flicker/freeze?
Grimmchild is just a special little mischief maker. I suspect the flickering is because I pushed the limits of the program (both in the number of animation frames and in the size variance between some frames). So just keep that in mind and don't have too many shimejis running at once. The freezing only happens if you have multiple Grimmchildren flying around, which is why I decided to set the multiplying frequency to 0.
If this is a problem for many people, I may edit a simpler version that doesn't strain the program so much.

    > Can you make a shimeji of (x) character?
I am not taking requests, sorry!
