Description
This was a commissioned headshot piece by a friend of mine for some of their Wings of Fire Fan Tribes. This is Buteos who is a BirdWing, I like the take they took for an avian inspired tribe looking more to the idea of the Raptors/Birds of Prey as to the Birds of Paradise that most fan tribes seem to take after. There's a lot of thought behind these characters and its fun to be able to see effectively behind the scenes when they explain to me their thoughts, ideas and process behind these tribes. It inspired me so much I asked to make and design my own characters such as Spectre and eventually a few more to come down.

"Birdwings possess a body remarkably close to that of the SkyWing tribe, showing off that they originated from Pyrrhia but having split off many moons ago. Over the years their bodies evolved to adapt to the change of their new continent and now home of Poromera, the more obvious of these changes being in their scale shedding to make way for feathers. While still predominantly scaly small feathers can be seen forming around the base of the head, shoulders, hindquarters and tail. The colours this tribe can have range from shades of browns to greys similar to birds of prey as to the colourful birds found within the rainforests and jungles of Pyrrhia and Pantala."

THE POROMERA PROJECT

The Poromera Project is a small project between me and a friend for a fan made/semi-standalone project of ideas in a Wings of Fire universe .
The project looks to highlight the progress of the art side and minor written details and ideas to help build the story with more immersion.
