love the antique look of this photo! head in a jar makes me think of the bell jar by sylvia plath. creepy and most admirable!

No it's not the dolls that are creepy. But rather, some people are just uncomfortable, being back in body & seeing an apparent lifeless doll, it simply reminds them of one's all too transcient existence.

YEs, I did make them. I still like dolls for lots of reasons but this image is totally weird and as you say, unsettling!

I know exactly what you mean. I'm a total fav nut as you can see if you puruse my gallery of favorites. When I find someone who creates images that I connect with I kinda freak out and keep adding their work to my favs. I'm so excited by having that picture in 's journal. Thanks for the heads up. Thanks for the comments btw it's really nice to hear your thoughts on my work. Sometimes I think that I go very unnoticed here except from some of my more devoted friends. It's nice to get someone's new perspective. I'm going to go through your gallery now.

It is outstanding! Surely makes one think and that is what is so outstanding about it, Yvonne! Love how you put the jar over it's head and the coins tossed here and there. True to the concept, children are costly.
It also reminded me of the fun-houses we saw as children when the county fair would come. Do you remember those? With the jars filled with body parts? I always loved those, was horrified and amazed by them at the same time. This has that same feel and it is delightful! Really fits with the season, too.

OMG, you reminded me of those 'body parts in jars'. I recall them from the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago!! At least I think that is where I saw them.

that is indeed creepy looking - reminds me of that movie - was it haunted house or something like that - where this wall of carved wooden children came alive and their trapped spirits went up to heaven - dang what was that movie called ....have the vision in my mind when saw this picture
