then you can try increasing the contrast and brightness slightly on the rose, and leave the black space

Hmmm ... I think I saw a similar pic elsewhere on the Net before, but of a different colour. But yeah, even with only part of the rose captured, the detail is incredible and the overall pic is beautiful as is.
