Wow Julie ~ for the wingless sculpture artist you did a fantastic job on them!!! I love that you come up with these ideas and actually do them! The wings are wonderful. Your faces always always I love! I'm so glad to see you back!

Yeah they do look like dead leaves and I love them. I used fabric tac to glue wires to some brown silk. Then covered the wires with liquid polymer, and added veins in thin lines. Burnt a few holes in the material with an incense stick, and around the edges a bit too. The liquid polymer discolored the silk, making the areas where it had baked on look darker. I liked the effect, so I didn't bother trying to cover all the material. I used a bit of black acrylic to paint over the wires, then added another coat of TLS over the painted areas. I love the effect overall and it just goes real well with the rustic look of the faerie.

Yeah I think they were my best wings yet. I don't normally make faeries, most of my work are wingless, so I haven't had much practice, but I think the came out real well.
