As you can tell this present for a good friend of mine called Matylda!^^ A birthday present infact as I'm posting it today on her 18th birthday after working on it between school and homework for about 5days!^^

As I found out it was her birthday coming up 5 days ago I decided I wanted to her a present, but I wanted to make it really personal as it's her 18th of course so I finally settled on the idea of doing a portrait. Which you can't get more personal than that?

So after 5 days of hard work here is the result and I am happy to say I'm really pleased with it.

I'm gonna quote a section from the email I sent her now as there is a meaning for everything that is in the picture so past me take it away!:

''Well now you know why I wanted to know if it was birthday today as I wanted to do you a present!

I wonder if you can guess who it’s meant to be? Hmm...

Well as it’s your 18th Birthday I wanted to do something that was very personal, and what’s more personal than a portrait? ^^ But everything that I have included in it has a personal meaning either to you personally or linked to experiences we have shared together over the last few years.

So let me list and explain them ^^:

· The earrings & gold heart along with the little slogan
probably make it obviously recognisable to you that its
Sailor Moon stuff which I’ve included because of your love
for it.

· The scissors are for your recent constant obsession for
getting your hair cut shorter and shorter! Just make sure
your have some left by the end of it ha ha! XD

· The Polish flag. Hmm not sure why I added that, couldn’t
possibly be anything to do with you being Polish!^ *

· Your Prom dress, which I know you didn’t like dressing up
in with all your makeup and hair done but I thought you
looked great and of course it was a very memorable night
I think you’ll agree? Especially, because of you cutting
your foot, but then being really brave and determined to
get back on that dance floor and strut your stuff! ^ *

· The beret of course is of course to represent your trip to
France this Easter with your polish friends. And also
because of you looking good in your beret too!

·The Oreo for your love of those delicious little cookies
same as me!

·The pencil behind your ear was for your unique fashion of
wearing pencils in your hair when it was long! Stylish yet
practical!~ XD

· The little blue doodle is just for your whiskery little manga
face you like to draw but also I because you’re always
smiling and cheery.

· The Faber Castell mechanical pencil is just cause I always
remember you using them in science and also because
you got me into using them for my drawing too!

· George the Calculator? Well does he need much
explaining to his owner? An iconic little chap whom I
always remember associated with you! ^^

· The book because of your love for reading same as me
but also it because it is Howl’s Moving Castle which is of
course now one of your favourite books and movies!

· The sheets of work are of course for your hard working
attitude and dedication to your work and how you always
strive to do your best and achieve the high results that
you truly deserve!

· And finally the lab coat and safety glasses are of course
for your love of chemistry and science and how I know
that whatever route you take in that mind boggling field
your will come out a top class scientist! ^ *

So yeah that’s everything about everything in the picture!^^ ''

So yeah thats the very long explanation to go along with the picture but I think overall with all the meanings it makes it all the more special.

I really pulled out all the stops with this picture by trying out new techniques and methods of coloring but I thubcome out great!^^

Please let me know your thoughts guys, comments are greatly appreciated!

Also many thanks to for the help with areas of colouring and techniques!^^
