Delightful colours. Definitely a favourite.

Thank you! I'm thinking of stepping out on the porch to photograph some new flowers~wild hyacinth and, I think, heather. The latter has sprung up all over the lawn, and I don't recall seeing it before. Of course, my mother would know, but she's still in the nursing home. *sigh*

Amazingly, they're not even as rich a color as they've been other years. But, I showed the pictures to my mom, and she was very pleased~though she added,Β "They're usually prettier than that." That's a "green fingers" gardener for you! I know she misses gardening, but she manages to keep some of the plants going.
I think purple isΒ one of my favorite colors in flowers, not just irises. I love grape aka wild hyacinths, lilacs, and wild violets, too. Unfortunately, every time we've tried a lilac bush, it didn't survive the summer.

Hahaha. That reminds me of the time I was watching the sunset with some friends and being someone who has studied atmospheric optics for several years, I said, "That's a pretty sunset.......... but I've seen prettier." They still make fun of me for that comment. haha

That's a cute story! I can just picture it, too. Maybe they wanted to see proof?
At least with the irises, I do have pictures from last year.
Sadly, I don't think I'm going to be able to take more flower pictures. We continue to have storms, and my achy body won't let me do such a simple thing as walk out into the lawn with my camera. I keep hoping. Maybe if we run errands tomorrow...

With fibromyalgia and several forms of arthritis, I'm quite accurate at knowing when storms are coming. When they're here, either the pain lessens slightly or increases a great deal, depending on the type of storm. Barometric pressure affects my mother and me. In a book I have about fibro, one of the authors suggested (with tongue in cheek) that a system of sufferers could be set up to predict the weather. She wrote that we'd outdoΒ all of the fancy equipment they have now, electronics that often are incorrect.
Lately, there have been a lot of storms, so I'm too "under the weather" to be able to walk around taking pictures. I wanted so much to take lots of flower pictures, but I did get some (to be submitted) of Mom's "Garden of Weeden" in the front of the house. The cats love playing there, and most of the leopard slugs emerge from there at night, providing many photo ops.
