Description When she was a kitten, she and several of her littermates had eye problems. They came through it, but she appears to have something like a cataract in her left eye. It looks clearer at times then is very obvious at others. It doesn't keep her from being a good hunter! It's just miraculous that the litter survived. Sophie abandoned them in a thunderstorm after moving them to the side of the house, with no protection. Mom and I gathered the tiny "birdcats" in a plastic basket, brought them in and dried them till they were fluffballs. Eventually, all of them found homes, but we kept JackieAmelia. Her original name was "Jack E." for "Jack Elam", the character actor with a blind eye. She became Jackie; we added "Amelia" after one of her sisters died~the only casualty among the fragile furbabies. It's amazing that such a miniscule creature became such a grownup ladycat! They were so fragile and "bird-boned" that we would be hesitant about picking them up, as we feared hurting them. We think that's why Sophie deserted them: She likely thought they would not survive. Instead, the feisty little critters would climb furniture and clothes to get into our laps! Peachy Keeno, who was so much bigger, large for his age, loved playing with them and never hurt them.

She is so cute and gorgeous.  I love her flurry hair.   I really love cats.  I would like to hug her.

She is an exceptionally beautiful girl. But, she's soooooo stubborn! Tonight, it's threatening rain again, and she won't come in. In fact, she will be in the lawn, curled up, getting wet. If we tried to get her wet inside, she'd tear us apart! Yes, she's an obstinate girl!

She's safe to hug when she's in Amelia mode; when she's Jackie, she will claw whoever is holding her or even near her. She really is a dual personality, which is strange because, before her sister (Amelia) died, Jackie was always a fierce little thing all of the time. But, I swear that you can tell when she changes! It's really bizarre, as if she partly took over Amelia's loving, gentle nature. Maybe she's possessed~at least some of the time. *giggle* Oddly, we were going to keep Amelia and let Jackie go to one of the many people who wanted her; but, when Amelia died and Jackie's nature changed (at times), we just couldn't let her go. We love her even if she's ornery. *smile*

She's a very defiant ladycat who insists she wants to be outdoors as much as possible. We'd love to have he in with us all of the time; sometimes, she's happy to be with us. Then, she'll zip out the door when we least expect it. Tonight, she's out in the lawn, near the back porch. She won't come in for either of us. *sigh*

She's never been hurt, and she's never gotten in fights though she's a rather disagreeable little girl. We wish that she would stay inside with us, but she'll always escape when we try to keep her indoors. I'm sure she will choose being in the house when autumn arrives. When it gets cold, I'm sure she will want to be comfier. I hope!

She came in a couple of times today on her own, so that's promising. We've had slightly cooler nights with no rain; perhaps she senses autumn approaching.
