Description This is from "What Are Little Girls Made Of?".

I met Mrs. Gene Roddenberry at a number of conventions~Space Trek held in St. Louis, Mo. She was so much more beautiful in person and was such a sweet, funny lady. When we heard at one convention that she was at the Lincoln Enterprises table, we joined many other fans in tracking down this practically hidden dealers room (at the labyrinthine Henry VIII Inn & Lodge); for some reason, she wasn't officially a guest. She was amazed by her popularity, especially when many of us had her sign stills from the first film. At one con, when DeForest Kelley had to leave the autograph line due to his arthritis, she loudly announced, "Anyone in the Mississippi River Valley who hasn't gotten an autograph from me, just hold out an item, and I'll autograph it!" Then, she moved down the line of fans with a flying pen! She was so much fun!

Do any of you old Trekkies remember Lincoln Enterprises? I still have many of the items that I purchased way back when; they were so affordable, and we knew it was authentic.

I'm glad to hear that she was even more beautiful in the flesh than on the screen.  I always felt somehow that the camera didn't do her justice.

Yes, she had dark brown hair as in the first movie~her natural color. She said that she always hated having her hair bleached and/or wearing wigs. What a lovely, friendly, fun-loving lady!
