Happy 5000 pageviews! To celebrate, I held a vote to see what people wanted me to draw. I got some interesting ideas, some of which I still may draw later. But the winner was the request to draw what Danny's kid would look like. Since fluff was also requested, I figured that there's little more heart-wrenching and gag-inducing adorable than a father and his kid. Or, two kids in this case, because I don't see Danny having just one; he strikes me as the kind of guy who, as a dad, would love kids.

Timewise, this takes place roughly around the same time as Dark Dan Phantom existed. In other words, ten years from the show's present. To show this, Dan Phantom here looks very similar to Dark Dan, but his costume isn't so angled, his hair isn't flaming, his eyes aren't red, and he's not green. Also, he doesn't have a cape in this future, because when I tried to put one on him I got a flashback to poor Syndrome's demise in "The Incredibles" (heck, their costumes even look similar, what with the same color scheme and all), and the thought of Dan Phantom being sucked into a jet engine was both side-splitting hilarious and jaw-dropping horrifying. At least until I remembered that he can go intangible...then it just became side-splitting hilarious. In any case, to quote a cool character from previously stated movie, "NO CAPES!!"

I learned two things drawing this picture: I can't draw children, and I can't draw adults. Actually three things, because once I learned the first two lessons, it occurred to me that I've then learned the lesson that I've drawn very little else aside from teenagers. O_o So I studied up on some anatomy, botched it in the drawing, and as a result, learned from my mistakes and will hopefully do better the next time I do adults or kids.

This was a total pain to shade. I wasn't certain where the light was coming from, and I'm still not sure. I think it's coming from directly ahead and slightly behind Danny, but I could be wrong. Sometimes my art just kinda draws/colors/shades itself. And with four characters to work with, the more help I had the better, so I just let it do its own thing.

Background is simple, because I spent all my effort on the characters. There should probably be more buildings in there, but I'm lazy; what can I say?

Now to comment on the kids.
I'm toying with the idea of calling them Danielle and Samuel, just to be funny. Then the girl would go by the nickname Danny and the boy would go by Sam. Or Sammy, whichever. But I have a story already with a character named Samuel who goes by Sam, so they might get confused in my mind. That, and I'm pretty sure everyone who's reading this has either groaned, rolled their eyes, or fallen off their chairs laughing, so I might have to go with less entertaining names for the kids. I don't know; what do you all want to call them?
EDIT: Oookay, since this came out, so did a DP ep WITH a girl named Danielle. >_< This is the same situation as with all my Avatar fancharacters; the moment I think of them, the series comes up with something almost entirely the same. Either I've got to stop creating my own characters, or I need to join a cartoon writing team because apparantly I think just like they do. /EDIT
I forgot when I drew this that I was going to give him twins. Oh well. He now has a three year old son and a year old daughter. Actually, according to my art and due to my lack of skill in drawing little kids, they look more like six years and three years respectivly. However, since Danny's twenty-four in this pic, I don't think it would be a good idea for him to have a six-year-old kid. EDIT: I also picture him having at least one more kid later...maybe this one won't have any powers, just to be different. /EDIT
Another thing I did with them is play with costume and colors. As humans, little Danielle (or whatever her name is) has black hair and blue eyes, like her dad. Her brother Sammy (whats-his-bucket) has white hair and purple eyes, the eyes from his mother and the hair a weird result of what happens with ghost DNA and genetics (lets not get into more detail than we have to, OK?). I also picture her being sweet and shy, while he's kind of a prankster and attention-grabber. Their uniforms look mostly like their Dad's used to be, with slight differences. Sammy-whats-his-bucket's uniform is more like the suit that Danny Fenton first put on before getting his DNA spliced, to go with his odd hair. He has a teddy bear, but I'm not sure who's it is. He may be holding it for his sister while she learns to fly, or it could be his. Dunno.

I just realized that having a kid learn to fly by going off the edge of a four-story building probably isn't the best parenting technique in the world...good thing Danny can fly fast.

Now that I've come up with all these designs, I'm tempted to draw more of this family. They're really fun. But I'll have to get real names for those kids...

EDIT: I can't belive its taken me this long to point this out, but I DO have names for the kids. XD In the sequel pic, the son is named Jack after his grandfather, the daughter is Lillith 'cause Sam always wanted a daughter with that name (too bad she grows up to be cute, nice, and pink loving, and totally un-goth), and they have a third child (not yet born in this picture), a son named David, cause it follows a D name like his dad. So...yeah. /Edit
