Description Abhimanyu was the son of Arjuna from the Indian epic Mahabharata and went to battle when he was just 16. He threw himself into the Chakravyuha battle formation, knowing that he did now know how to get out. He was overpowered and went down fighting.

I took some artistic liberties with this composition. Abhimanyu famously fought with a chariot wheel after all his weapons were destroyed by his enemies. The wheel was eventually shattered. However, here, I tried to bring back the idea of the wheel to allude to the idea of human suffering pinned to the eternal cycle of Samsara. The wheel is such a powerful symbol in Hinduism, especially for Abhimanyu. He died in a wheel formation ("Chakra" means wheel) which he could not get out and lifted a wheel to continue a hopeless battle. For me, it's a feast of symbolism, a reflection of man's eternal and hopeless struggle with power and death.

It turned out great!

I especially like the gloomy sky (great clouds ) as a contrast to the yellow tint of the whole scene.

To me the guy seemed Egyptian ("skirt", chariot). Now he turns out to be form Indian mythology You never stop learning

Thank you! I thought it was interesting that you thought he was Egyptian. As soon as you said it I could see the similarities
