I like the image, and you manage to convey the mood really well, but one thing I have to say is that if I had a beautiful old room like that to myself, I wouldn't be depressed.

At the current point in my life, I can totally relate... and on many other accounts as well. I won't delve into details.. but, I love this work.. it really captures the essence of depression.

I faved this earlier, but didn't have time to comment. I can't say I 'love' this, as it speaks directly to my soul and how I used to feel... and I didn't love that. Far from it.
But, I do admire this, and the way it can provoke reactions and emotions from the viewer, regardless of whether they've experienced depression or not. I have, to breakdown point, and it's something I'm still living with, albeit in the background.
The people who have experienced depression and cope with it, are the ones who can portray it best in art. It doesn't have to be a bad thing. It can become something that inspires and creates beautiful and meaningful art and writing; which is what I believe you've created here.

that's a pretty on-target depiction of the feeling of depression! excellent work. just wish the watermark was placed higher, in the center it really takes away from the power of the painting.
