I bet Lionel would've tried to make sense in his mind(with your version of Xo) of how they could be twins and Quetzal just like "Don't overthink it, it'll drive you nuts." lol

IKR??? They are spiritual twins in any case! Oh god... with this new information regarding Tonatiuh's father, Xolotl becomes another one of his uncles... and actually his role guiding Tonatiuh through the underworld makes him sort of a like a guardian ahahaah, Even though Xolotl is both fearful and hateful of him...

Awww, IKR? They all find him weird and annoying, but at the same time they do admire him for his unmatched bravery.

Thank you!! I feel like I have suddenly released them in an explosion! We've not met Xipe Totec yet out of the main ones though... he is yet to come! I have planned his little comic... >v>
I always have fun with Tona's expressions, and it was about time he stuck out his tongue as he's famous for doing so! I've been waiting for SO LONG to draw him like that, and of course... that come back! Go and bash Mict on the head with science Tona and look cheeky!

"Tona sticks out his tongue"......!!!! Just now I noticed it! It is his famous facial expression!! (Too late...)
Since now, when I see the Aztec calendar stone, I might be reminded of your Tona's facial expression!!

What have I done? X"DDD Or what has Tona done rather... spreading his strange habits into the minds of others! His mother was never there to tell him to put that tongue away!

Haha I really love the way you draw them and the comedy. Between you, Yuramec, and the BToM duo, I'm just in Aztec Paradise when I log into dA! I get my fair dose of comedy and seriousness from all 3 as well. It's quite nice!

Awww thank you so much! You don't realise how happy you make me feel by saying that about my comic! I love making them so much - they serve as an outlet in more ways than one and great distraction from my life right now and to hear that somebody is really enjoying my comic strips means an awful lot to me. Making people laugh with something I have created is one of those little things which makes me feel really fulfilled. It is my pleasure to give you a slice of your DA Aztec comic dosage!

Well then I say you are doing something very important and I can tell you spend a lot of time on making sure these are done well. What all do you use to create your comics?

Thank you! I like to put a little Aztec twist in the layout of them as well since it's nice to give the comics an injection of the culture I'm making them about, though I'm still experimenting a little with its look! First of all I sketch them out in pencil because I simply prefer drawing their initial expressions and body language traditionally, then I scan them onto the computer and lay it out how I want and draw fresh lines over the top in SAI using a tablet. ^v^ That way I can change anything that I want quite easily and I don't need the computer all the time in the process. Quite often I end up sketching in bed if I have an panel which I really want to draw! XD

Ooooohhhhh nice! I personally prefer drawing and coloring traditionally period but, I have to do computer illustration as well so, I try to stay familiar with the programs. I don't have SAI but, I hear it's wonderful. :3

I actually feel a lot more comfortable drawing traditionally as well, though I have not really posted them on here. I should though, come to think of it. I am quite new to this digital stuff, but I'm getting to know a few tricks here and there, and getting used to drawing on a tablet is something that only practice can do, because it's weird and it doesn't feel like pen on paper at all. My mum had a go on it a few weeks ago and we ended up in fits of laughter because she couldn't so much as make a proper line. When I first got the tablet a few years ago it didn't get so much use, but I'm getting into it now. SAI is wonderful... I used to use GIMP before I found that one, but I honestly wouldn't recommend GIMP for drawing.

Yeah, I usually just use Photoshop or free online editing programs to draw digitally. My favorite is Pixlr.
I have a tablet as well that I've had a few years and when I first got it, I did a lot of doodles on Paint with it. xD
I just don't like that you don't actually create with your own hands the blending and color detail, it's all just readily available and that kind of sucks.
I don't hate doing things digitally, I just feel like some of the creativity is lost just because it saves time in some aspects.

Mytforskare In reply to BlooBurd10 [2013-11-07 16:26:01 +0000 UTC]
Wow, I must be doing something the long way with my colouring, because on my SAI I end up having to blend them manually all the time, this is if I am not doing harsh shading. Therefore I keep things block colour a lot of the time and add either a shadow or a highlight. I'm one of those people who will make something look nicer in general if I put effort into it traditionally... digital art doesn't come as naturally to me because it takes a while for me to pick up the tricks and I get frustrated with how unreliable the equipment is! On the other hand, if I make a mistake digitally it's all too easy to edit undo!

BlooBurd10 In reply to Mytforskare [2013-11-07 17:18:35 +0000 UTC]
Oh no, that's not what I meant lol. I just mean that digital art lets you fix mistakes quicker than traditional where you would have to erase or paint over mistakes, whereas digital allows you to stretch and blend over the mistakes. I spend a lot of time changing things when I do them digitally as well but, compared to blending colored pencils or paints, most of the colors are readily available or you can just take the color from another picture to get the right coloration. Just seems like cheating when you think about it. Doesn't make it wrong though, either. I just feel more accomplished when I can create facial tones traditionally and get the right colors without doing that but, I am guilty of using those tools as a time saver.

AHHHH!!! Okay, no I totally get you there. I find it quite funny how most of my gallery is digital stuff when actually I much prefer colouring and things traditionally. I find that with the comics, they look nice when they are bold and bright and I can move them around easier to how I like them! ^v^ I might try colouring the in coloured pencil or something and outline them in fine-liner as I LOVE to draw in fine liner, but I fear that it won't produce the same crisp effect which I like this these little guys!

THANK YOU!!
PFFFFFFF HAHAHAAH!!!
And seeing Tonatiuh and Mictlantecuhtli naked was the scary Halloween special! That's two unrelated celebrations in one! 8"D I blurred Nana's bits out for the sake of well... everyone...! I don't do this to him on purpose, but he keeps ending up in situations where he appears naked!

AWWW thank you! Tona's totally grumpy in the morning, so you get to see a slightly different side to him, though he's not shown his 'bad-ass' evil side yet! It's was fun drawing him with messy hair and like he was half dead! I'm glad you love the other gods too! IKR?? Xo's just so cute... I designed him a little on the Aztec hairless dog breed! ^v^
I need willing friends in England first!!
