Description Name: Fr. Joram Bénit
Age: 27
Nationality: English
Skills: Can wield a variety of firearms - better than 20-20 vision – he’s a great marksman who always hits his target.. Little understanding of technology. However, he has a strong knowledge of Myths from his priestly training, and is skilled in determining Myth types, their strengths and weaknesses and the best method of attack. Needs little instruction from Gabriel on how to tackle assignments. He is able to invoke spiritual powers through prayer and meditation – he blesses all his bullets himself, and can exorcise spirits. His power to banish evil is required in his team with Salome because out of the two he is the only one who can defeat the evil presence or core of the myths.
Preferred Assignment: Able to exorcise most evil spirits and presences, but prefers to tackle assignments that will not place his partner Salome in a defenseless and vulnerable position.
Weapons Of Choice: Firearms with blessed silver bullets. Spiritual powers (exorcism, etc) Sometimes uses a ceremonial staff.
History: Joram grew up spiritually inclined – he was always in possession of an understanding of ‘something greater’ and sought, though entering the priesthood, to understand it and become closer to it. As he trained, however, it became obvious to him that his understanding of spirituality was far different to that of others in the church. Their emphasis on rules, formalities and judgment was a conflict to the values Joram held of compassion, tolerance and love. Because he spoke out against their hypocrisy, Joram was ordained but never granted his own parish or role, and thus lived nomadically, preaching when he was called to but more often lending aid to those in need. However, there’s a lot to him that he doesn’t reveal…

Gender: Male
Height: 180cm – that’s 6 foot
Beliefs/Religion: A strong, uniquely personal faith in the Christian God

-------------------
Current Information
-------------------
>family background – not really important. It wasn’t that his family wasn’t close, but he’s moved on to more important things with his life where his family doesn’t fit. What I’m trying to say is that he enjoyed the time he spent with his family, but they don’t really play a role in his life right now.

>home – he travels around to where the demands of Myth-Hunting takes him

--------------------
Physical Description
--------------------
>hair style – blond hair around the length of his earlobes, but he brushes it back.

>eyes – light blue

>body - Lean, though strong

> physical condition – Not that fast – he limps on his left leg (why? Not telling…) He’s fairly strong and agile in his upper body.

>marks, scar, tattoo – a tattoo on his right wrist of a cross

>clothing – priestly attire – if he is for some reason required to dress in ‘regular’ clothes, he wears simple things – nothing flashy, mostly black or gray

------------
Personality
------------
>likes – stillness…he likes calm places and doing relaxing things like reading and praying.

>dislikes – traveling by sea…he gets seasick easily. Also, he cannot tolerate seeing cruelty towards others.

>fears - he doesn’t fear much because of his strong faith – not even death because he believes in life after it. However, the thought of losing someone close to him is something he just can’t bear.

>goals – really, Joram is just drifting. He’s still waiting for a moment of epiphany.

>hobbies – watching foreign language art house films. He likes them because of the depth of story and character.

>most prized possession (important or emotional value) – not telling, but he keeps it inside his bible.

>vernacular (way of speaking) – he’s very formal and polite. Softly spoken but people always listen to what he has to say…he just has this aura about him that demands attention.

>character behavior – calm, intelligent and reasonable, full of valuable advice. He’s compassionate and gentle, and a patient listener. Nothing seems to phase him…he laughs it all off. He has a strong sense of justice and integrity.

>relationships (with who and what kind) –
Evangeline – his partner in Myth Hunting. She is supposed to be his servant to pay off her debts to the church. However he seeks to protect her and treats her like an equal. She has become a long term friend and taken off the edge of the loneliness from his life. Does he love her? He cares deeply for her and wants to protect her at all costs, but his faith and duty to God prevents him from ever feeling something stronger.
Gabriel – treats Joram with respect. He accepts his advice and concedes his knowledge of myths. Joram in turn looks up to Gabriel as someone who has achieved high spiritual understanding, but also is amused by some of his more ‘human’ aspects.

>beliefs, superstition, moral value - He respects the law unless there is a higher purpose which requires the…‘bending’ of some rules. But he wouldn’t break the core rules to his faith…not so much the ‘this animal is unclean’ or ‘women should obey their husbands’ stuff but the core values, i.e. the Ten Commandments, and things like his own chastity, purity, compassion, love and tolerance…those aren’t things he can just cast aside.

> positive characteristics – his intelligence, integrity, faith, his advice and support which are sought after by many. He’s calm with great internal strength – nothing seems to shake him.

>negatives characteristics – he used to have a great deal of naivety, but not anymore – he lost that innocence he once had and no longer believe totally in the good of others. Sometimes the image of his goodness alienates people – they feel impure around him.
