this reminded me of the time (when i was still with shaggy)
I called him to come meet me at the movies
and i sat there and waited for him. for 3 hours i was there--i missed the movie, and there were these gangsters there that kept trying to talk to me. i just kept smiling and saying "He'll be here... eventually"
It made me sad before
but now it makes me laugh

I find it amazing how you can take this cute, cartoony style and then tear such a wide range of emotions out of it. Anger, fear, grief, love, angst, joy, happiness, glee, cheer, so many feelings...

this was her big chance. all the scouts from all the best music schools were there. this was her big moment!
she stepped out on to the stage and advanced confidently to the piano. it looked so crisp in the spotlight. she felt the eyes of the audience on her. there were a few whisper from the front row; her competition trying to psyche her out.
she pulled out the bench and sat down before the keys. before touching the instrument she adjusted her skirt and took a slow, deep breath. a smile grew on her face. she felt the audience inhale in anticipation.
she lifted her right hand and began the delicate introduction of the sonata. a delight filled her as the music grew and flowed from her fingertips. what a glorious instrument this was!
as the first full chord approached she knew something was wrong. but what?
her right finished its rising arpegio and crashed down on the magnificent chord. but no bass notes rang out! the crowd gasped! her left hand hung limp at her side. lifeless.
"I waited for you..." she whispered to her left hand.
