So... I don't just knit. I also crochet, and because the the sheer amount of practice I've had, I can do something I call "yarn sculpting"
I crocheted a three-dimensional fish when I was a kid
a buffalo is a fun challenge characters and artwork featured here are mine

You crocheting just reminded me that my late mom also did, and I have a plastic Walmart bag stuffed full of some of the last things she made before she passed away a few years ago; a bunch of squares of different colors for an afghan she wanted to make, but never finished.
I'm thinking about taking up crocheting so I can finish it, so that way, I'll not only have something special to remember her by (not that I need much, really; I miss her like crazy (well, my sibs all do, too) every day of my life since her passing back in November 2012), but that I can say she and I made together.
My sis Terry is of the opinion that I should, too.

It just takes practice, and there's tons of videos online that show you how to fun,creative stuff ^^
(although, to be honest, I'm making this one without a pattern. I relish a challenge

American Buffalo/Bison are my mother's favorite animals, which is sorta why I'm making this one

I haven't decided if I'm going to give her the bison yet or not. I'm currently planning on keeping it.
