----I hear my heart crumbling,
the sound of my life falling to pieces.
I haven't seen colours for a long time,
haven't smiled, haven't laughed.
Where have I failed?
This cold, nameless shadow
chases me everywhere I go,
freezes me to my bones, leaves me hollow.
I hide, keep away from everything
that once meant something to me.
I disappoint the people I love the most.
Why am I doing this?
I cry, hoping it will ease my pain.
I sleep, hoping the next day will bring my life back.
before I crumble to dust.

Hello everyone!
This is the first painting of my "state of mind" series which will contain approximately 4 pictures.
Depression. A simple word, a heavy meaning. Nothing to overlook, nothing to look down upon.
A state of mind, where you can't focus anymore, consumed by grief and sadness - and regret.
The series starts with "depression", because it is the state of mind I knew the best for almost 2 years - before I was able to fight out of it, with my own strenght and the help of people I love dearly.
While I generally am a happy-go-lucky type of person, I have a very deep and dark side which i can easily trap myself into. And I got trapped heavily.
I started this picture last summer (!!) and finally got to finish it. With it, I set a reminder for myself, to never let myself get trapped again.

Sehr interessant. Es tut mir leid zu hören, dass du damit schon zu tun hattest, aber umso schöner, dass du da auch wieder rausgekommen bist. Insofern ist es ein sehr gut umgesetztes bild, die farben, der Gesichtsausdruck (vor allem das linke Auge, gebrochen fast), der Bruch - stellen alle das Thema so gut dar. DIe Haare gefallen mir auch sehr gut, so detailreich.
Schöne Arbeit mit einem interessanten Thema...freu mich dann schon auf mehr.
