This picture is HUGE for me. Probably one of the biggest pictures I've done, and one of the very few pictures where I took on the challenge of creating a full background. Please download for full view! I am actually pretty happy with it, a lot of thought ended up going into the composition and subject, and I learned a looooot. I used some stock images from NASA and I got the border as stock from DeeJayAlien.

This is my interpretation of the Sailor Moon of 30th Century Crystal Tokyo. A lot of people tend to draw Chibi-Usa as Sailor Chibi Moon even when she's older. Canonically, we get a glimpse at a mature Chibi-Usa, who is known as Princess Lady Serenity, so I would think when she matures her Pink Moon Crystal transforms into another upgraded version of the Silver Crystal, and she becomes the full-fledged Senshi, Sailor Moon. While her princess dress is taken from the manga, I gave her her own Senshi uniform as Sailor Moon, taking a bunch of design cues from Sailor Moon's original outfits as well as Chibi-Usa's uniforms from when she first appears. The background is sort of multi-layered in that it represents the duality associated with her character origins and roles.

Overall, this was really fun for me. I loved trying to draw in Naoko Takeuchi's style when I was first into Sailor Moon, so it's been fun to go back to that.
