Description there's a portrait of my really good friend Heather. Her face was hard to draw, but she's got these great eyes and I think I've captured them.. at least i hope so
I want to do some more portraits of friends on my toned paper, so look forward to that. after that I'll start on colored works again.

You're welcome. Whenever my boss comes to work, she brings her Siberian Husky and he's super-friendly and cute. I make sure to rub him whenever I see him.

Gopher snakes are abundant in my part of the States, and while they're not venomous, they do behave like rattlesnakes. I remember this one time I tried to pick up a gopher snake near my mother's house and he struck at me. The good news was, I was wearing enclosed footwear and his head rebounded off my toe. He was hissing pretty loudly, and before I could do anything to him, he slithered away into some pipes. My mother hates snakes, and that incident with the gopher snake has made me a little leery.

aww, poor snake we have a lot of black racer snakes, harmless, but very fast. they can get pretty long, they also vibrate the end of their tails like tattlers do

The snake that snapped at me didn't die. He just got away. It must be the mimicry where nonvenomous snakes impersonate venomous ones.

probably a good idea, even if he wasnt venomous, reptiles' bite still really hurt. i was bitten by a small anole and he bit so hard he left a mark on my finger after he finally let go.

There are alligator lizards in addition to the fence lizards where I live, and one bit me, but his bite did not go deep, nor did it draw any blood. I like alligator lizards because they eat black widow spiders. Some say that's good because black widows are evil. My father says brown recluse spiders are worse because their bites make the affected area discolored and rot via necrosis. Very disgusting to say the least. I once compared tarantulas to little dogs, but my mother said she wouldn't let me have one. I don't think she's a fan of spiders. I'm OK with them, as long as they're not bothering me. Most of the dangerous ones don't live where I live. Australia and New Zealand have funnelweb spiders that are basically tarantulas on steroids. Easily angered and venomous are some of their characteristics.

I think the recluses are worse because they dont have an anti-venom like black widows do, though both would not be fun to get a bite from. I have slight fear the spiders as well... can't stand the way they look, if i look at them for too long it makes me feel sick

Spiders have a lot of enemies though. Humans that hate them are one. I'd seen a YouTube video where a giant centipede killed and ate a tarantula. It looked horrible but almost compelling. Somehow I couldn't take my eyes off of it.

You probably wouldn't want to anyway. I've seen worse, especially one where a centipede killed and ate a mouse.
