If it's any consolation, when I am drawing women, I make them too masculine. I'm mostly good at drawing men, and one of the first was Oded Fehr from the Mummy films. Still, I've done other female drawings in my gallery, such as Princess Taiyah of Atlantis and Taylor, a human woman who is part of my original series' supporting cast. I think those were my better female human drawings. Oh, and good work on your Captain of the Guard.

You're welcome. I draw anthropomorphic animals too, and as you may have noticed, I stopped drawing ostentatiously huge eyes on my human characters, but I've done it to my nonhuman characters. I know you're not a fan of the huge eye thing, since Japanese animation isn't your style, but that's fine. I'm not big on the Japanese cartoon eye style much, and like I said, I only do huge eyes on my nonhumans. I tried to get into Japanese animation at one time, but didn't find it that interesting, with one exception being the Escaflowne series. That was one of the better shows I had seen. Other than that, I stick with normal eyes for my human characters. Someone else thought the normal-sized eyes works better too.

I know what you're saying, if it helps. Most of the time I stick with some of my childhood favorites that are non-anime.

As of now, and even though I have three tests this week for finals, I am struggling to do somewhat-sideways drawings of human and animal faces where the eyes are not symmetrical. I learned that earlier this year during a convention, and now I'm trying not to make the same mistake again. I've been studying some of my comic books that I own in my collection so I can get a feel for the whole asymmetrical formation on a somewhat-sideways face. Maybe I just need to do my homework a little better. I'm hoping to take a clay sculpture class sometime soon so I can get a feel (no pun intended) for making things with my hands, and not just with pencils and paper.

Yeah, the sideways face is hard, but you just have to get in there and draw it.. and use lot of references if you're not sure what you're doing. Oo, sculpture is cool, I hope to take a class like that sometime at my college.

I use plenty of picture references to do my drawings whenever I do art. Yes, I will consider sculpture in the future if and when I'm still in school.

Sounds like a whole spectrum of skills there.
