Description I was once a dreamer
The whole world inside my mind
And there traces of dullness and grief
Were extremely hard to find

To be a dreamer is to see
Endless, beautiful sights
During dull, boring lectures in the day
Or still and silent nights

Dreams are a beautiful escape
But that's it… that's all they are
They won't get you where you need to be going
And they'll never take you far

Because dreams are a small remedy
Yet, whenever you open your eyes
You see the world as it really is
Leading to imagination's demise

And when reality must be dealt with
We become victims of this place
Instead of thriving in the worlds we saw
While our head was up in space

And as we begin to clearer see
All the struggle and strife,
We shut down the dreams and go to work
And begin to hate our life

So here I am, 53 years later
Without a spark inside me to gleam
I wonder, where would I be now,
If I let myself continue to dream?
