"And there it was. A massive mass of of pure muscle and rage. Possessing bulk comparable to the of an elephant, yet with the agility of a rabid wolf. A malignant, almost fungal growth, corrupted almost every inch of the beast. In my panic, I took only a cursory glance of the creature before hiding. It didn't look like it had eyes. I thought if I remains silent, this overgrown terror would pass over me. Yet it still approached me. It's yellowed teeth advancing toward me. How did it know where I was?! Then I saw it. The subtle twitches and flicks of the growth on its back. The corruption took it's sight and gave it something better. Was it smell? I covered myself with mud to mask my scent. It continued. Was it hearing? I held my breath. Still, the hulking Goliath advanced. I could feel it's breath on my face. I had lost hope. I vowed my head to accept my fate. That's when it happened. It beast and it's fungal master seized up. It began looking around as if confused, like it had suddenly lost track of me. It almost smashed the rock I called my hiding spot in rage before running off... What had it sensed? Why had I suddenly become invisible to it? I never did find out for sure, as I had left the planet the next day. I look back on it now and then, and while I don't know for sure, I have an idea... That beast actually could sense fear itself..."
