i do believe since i first did these commissions i have steadily improved from basic anatomy to color theory and so on. i will admit looking at my gallery there are a lot of commissions where i have, at most, one eye drawn instead of two and i do agree that if i want to improve i will have to start breaking that habit. giving this out as a commission i am quite happy with how it turned out, especially color wise and if my client does have an issue with how the eyes are they can confront me and i will happily edit the picture to their liking. lastly, if i could "critique your critique": if you commented on here for the pure intentions of helping me better myself as an artist there are better ways to do it so it is a constructive critisism and not one that comes off as insult and mockery. for example you could've said "hey i noticed you avoid drawing the second eye on the faces of characters, i will say that this could be considered a cop out and i suggest that in the future you try drawing both eyes." Instead you said something along the lines of "if you're able to do basic anatomy then you shouldn't suck at eyes" (im paraphrasing). If I misconstrued the tone of which you were speaking I apologize but this is the way I saw it. I will gladly take your not-so constructive critism and try to draw both eyes on faces! And in turn I hope you will take my advice on how to give out critisism constructively! I hope you have a nice day/night

I know you weren't, I was saying that because you are an artist on this platform, are an adult, and seem to have people commissioning you. Technically that makes art a profession of yours. As someone who makes money from commission, you'd think you wouldn't be an ass on a platform where potential customers can see it, because it can hurt your reputation.

Ban could have literally just copy and pasted the open eye on my boy on the right so both eyes were open, and no one would've noticed. That's pretty lazy. But, making art is all about being lazy when you can be, if an artist can get away with it, then good for them. Considering they have shown they're totally capable of drawing 2 eyes open on figures, i don't think it's an issue to care about.

While you think copypasting is just as lazy is a good argument, in reality the way it is now is an incomplete product and completing it to presentable commission condition by taking a shortcut is not laziness
professionalism isn't solely defined by a customer base but also the product created and as a professional freelancer, i am saying it's a cop-out and a bad product

If you're trying to offer constructive criticism, all you're doing is being distructive. With YOUR level of art, you should know by now the struggle that got you to where you are now.
Try again and offer decent and well mannered tips if you're aiming to help them out. They're open to working on things they may fault on but I don't appreciate you talking down to them the way that you are. If you're trying to be funny, you're coming off as rude.
