Have you seen my scars?How many have you seen?
Do you know how I got them?
Do you know what they mean?
Do you know how it feels,
To truly hate yourself,
To be afraid to open up,
Though you know that you need help?
Have you ever felt the pain,
Of being left behind,
As one by one your friends disappear
And dark thoughts fill your mind?
Have you ever confided in,
A friend you thought was true,
Only to realize you scared her away,
And she no longer talks to you?
Have you ever blamed yourself,
For simply being you,
For all those stupid things,
You always seem to do?
Have you ever been called ugly,
By some guys you barely knew,
And started to believe,
That what they said was true?
Do you ever wonder,
That if you were not there,
If those people you call friends,
Would notice or even care?
If you looked into my eyes,
Could you understand,
That all I've ever needed,
Was for you to hold my hand?

What you've written rings so truly. I was nodding my head the entire time, because every single emotion in this beautiful poem has applied to me at one point or another (if you count seeing "scars" more in the metaphorical sense than in the literal sense).

While reading this poem, I felt it was wrote for me.
Each verse has a special and hurtful meaning because of the memories it brought up. Don't get me wrong though, reading this has done far more good than harm, and I thank you for sharing this with us.
For me though... all those lonely years through depths of depression and despair, something finally snapped these days. Almost no emotion left to give, and not desiring any back.
This poem is shockingly beautiful. I wish you all the best, and much happiness in your life. This poem really shows emotion behind the eyes of the silent sufferer. Something... many people wont understand, simply can't fathom.

Absolutely stunning! Unfortunately I can relate to this - apart from the talking to a friend. I never did that, but somehow I made it through intact and turned into a very happy and positive person.
I'm hoping that you will come out of your depressions as well, find true friends and find reasons to smile every day.

trying to have friends is not to hard, but having them understanding you...that is though. it's so stupid you know...why do most people have to judge everyone while they only see the outside and not the inside..
