I can not find out how you coloured this, It could not have been by hand, maybe the lineart but not the grayscale colouring, it is too fine for that.
I think your lines are awesome, and I guess that the troublesome expressions are caused by the eyes, since they are looking at different things. The guy to the right looks a little longer to his left than the kid does. I do not know this, but maybe it would be more harmonic if they were looking at the camera or?.. ahh, forget it, you are better than me, this is some amazing work!

Hmm? Well, I drew and colored this with my graphic pen tablet and Photoshop CS4 so I guess you could still say I colored it "by hand" only with my computer instead of a pencil. Yes I think the line quality is better with digital art because there is no grain to the "paper" as it were... xDDD
Ehh Haha I really didn't mean the expressions were troubling me like I drew them wrong or anything. The fact that they are looking off in different directions was intentional... I'm just not certain why I intended it... and that's what is troubling to me... LOL
