Description
This is like.. 75% oekaki until the window crashed on me. Fortunately, the paranoid self has made constant screen caps.
Recently, I have been attracted to this series called, Onmyou Taisenki and I decided to make some fanart dedicated to the series.
So here's my first try at a "White Wolf" or "Byakko," Kogenta.
This probably took nearly 2 hours b/c of his HAIR... er.. fur?

P.S. He is the anime version.. NOT the manga version. For all you picky people.

Onmyou Taisenki's one of my favorite anime, mostly because the main character is a tiger!
I wish they would bring the series over to America but for now I suppose i'll have to suffice with downloads and Youtube.
Your rendering actually reminds me of a doujinshi style I've seen before of Kogenta. I rather like it!
I feel for you there with the constant fear of the oekaki system crashing on you or freezing. That's why I stopped doing oekaki and started using Photoshop. Of course for me I didn't have Photoshop when I used oekaki systems.
And now with advanced paint programs, you could very easily go back and complete this sketch!

Well, I've used it long enough to know when it does.. and constant screencaps and safety saves are a good way to go. I just like to do them mainly so I would finish them. Anything I do on SAI would just take ages b/c I know I can come back to it....
Im personally not a fan of PS, simply b/c it's heavy and memory intensive and too copmlicated for my brain to learn. So I just use SAI. XD

I've been able to find the dvds on [link] but they're insanely expensive, $40USD per dvd! There happens to be 13 dvds if I recall.
Way too much money for me! So I'll stick to Youtube.
Photoshop's not too bad once you get the hang of it ^^.
If you use just the paint portion of it it's quite similar
to oekaki systems. I can see where you're coming from though.
I think I've got a Kogenta picture some where in my gallery.
I've got one I was working on of Rangetsu that's still in my sketch book. I'll have to finish it up and submit it.

Well.... YesAsia is actually pretty close to original price, believe it or not. So even if you go over there to get it (which I did), it's about the same. Lol. XD
AllI have is the fansub version. I almost got my hands on raws, but the links were expired. |D
Perhaps.. but Iunno.. it just takes too long to load and lags on my computer, too memory heavy, really.. as I said earlier. XD

That's why I love YesAsia all original prices.
I've looked through target and a few book stores and they wanted $50+ for one of Ayumi Hamasaki's albums which on YesAsia would be more so around $20+.
For now though I don't quite think I'm ready to dish out $40 dollars for a dvd original price or not. Once I get a bit more cash in my pocket then I'll consider it.

I would like to draw him again sometime.. perhaps not this one. I'm not sure though.

It's not licensed for one thing.. so it was never played here. It is quite popular in Japan, however. The series ended a couple years ago.

amazing, I love that sketchy black shading you did under his chin and the bottom of the picture! And those are pretty greay eyes, love the fact only they are "coloured". great use of black and white too!

I don't blame you for drawing the anime version. XD Kogenta in the manga has so many more minor details (Like the white tiger surrounding the ying-yang on his shoulder armor... x_x)
Kogenta's the greatest! X3 His hair was always a pain in the ass for me whenever I sketched him (because those damn blue streaks are always MOVING), but you seemed to pull it off perfectly. ^_^
