"-ile? Emile!"

"What, huh, I'm here, what!?" Emile yelped at Jon's commanding tone. Jon looked unimpressed,"The bus is here, genius." He said, rolling his eyes.

Emile blushed lightly in embarrassment,"O-Oh...yeah, of course." He chuckled nervously.

Jon sighed,"Honestly, Emile." He chided lightly, grabbing his hand and dragging him up the steps. The bus doors closed behind them with a hiss.

Emile followed his friend as Jon worked to find a seat.

Emile's gaze landed upon a girl with long, black hair and chestnut eyes. Said eyes were focused on her lap as she sketched on a blank white slate.

Curious, Emile asked to Jon,"You can find your own seat. I'll sit here."

The girl visibly stopped for a moment before returning to her sketch.

Jon regarded the girl before nodding, lips curling up into a smile,"Okay, Emile. See you at school."

I'm never gonna hear the end of this, am I... Emile grumbled mentally as he sat next to the girl.

The two sat in awkward silence as the bus began to move.

"So..." Emile said, attempting to break the ice,"what's your name?"

The girl looked up at him, pursing her lips,"Why don't you tell me your name first?"

"If I do that, will you tell me your name?"

"Probably." She replied, smiling. Emile laughed quietly,"Fine...I'm Emile." He said, stretching out a hand. She stared at him for a few seconds before grinning, accepting the hand and shaking it,"Masae."

"What're you sketching?"

Masae looked down, judging her sketch,"I dunno. Something random." She answered. Emile looked at the sketch,"...looks like a horse."

Masae made a face,"Compliment or insult?"

"Neither."

"Well, then...I guess it's a horse."
