I thought this was digital line art when I first saw it. Just shows you how fine and uniform your line are. It'll turn out great though, it's hard to ruin something this nice
Pencils are fun, but permanent. I haven't used them much before, but just take my advice: Unless you have erasable coloured pencils, try to limit blending to colours adjacent to one another on the colour wheel. If you don't you'll just end up applying way to much pressure to get the right colour, and you'll practically dig the pencil into the paper. And be careful using black to darken, it doesn't really darken as much as it... blacks. But that's just based on my experience.
Nice to see you distancing yourself from just scenes; your best work is when you use some creativity and originality. Honestly when it comes to fan art, it's nearly impossible to work without a reference, because you at least want the person of scene to be recognizable. Just keep taking risks and liberties and you'll get a safe distance from redrawing.
Yeah, the album's great. I'll have you know I downloaded it within the hour it was released, and nearly tore my arm off when it got delayed for over a week... It's all worth it now though. Die and Caffeine are my favorites, but they're all excellent.
And I'm still waiting on that painting. I hope you haven't given up on it.

Daw, thanks. I wish I could make digital art; maybe one day.
Thanks for the tips; I started coloring today and so far its... meh. Not bad but not as good as I'd hoped. Maybe with a bit more work it'll come out better.
Kind of wishing I'd just gone with my usual grey scale but I suppose I've got to start coloring somewhere.
Yeah, I've mentioned before that I want to stop redrawing scenes and start putting some originality into my work. And you're right; it's nearly impossible to draw fan art without references if you're looking for screen-accuracy. I know some people who can draw really nice fan art from the top of their head, and thus I end up comparing myself to them (which I shouldn't).
I'm glad to know that, like a true fan, you were willing to dismember yourself when your right to the V2 soundtrack was delayed. I didn't know about the release until the day after, and immediately purchased it. As I said, the whole thing is great; even the scores are nice to listen to (though I don't think I'll be playing them much). I like Caffeine up until, and after the, Lamar Hall rap verse. I don't much care for that particular segment. Sacrifice is my favorite; the slow, melodic, dark intro followed by the transition into hard rock just gets me pumped. Plus the lyrics are great. And then Boop gave me Renora feels that I didn't even know I had.
I'm building up suspense! I'm still working on it, but I haven't actually "worked" on it in weeks.
