Say what you want about my sanity, but the first time I heard about this series I thought "Black Shit---what?!".I love kuroshitsuji, but I couldn't resist.

Yeah - I know nothing much about Japanese anything, but they do have 'shit' in some of their words.

On truth the syllabic division to "kuroshitsuji" is ku-ro-shi-tsu-ji. 'Tsu' is one of the syllables/letters from japanese alphabet and is so usually seen inside the japanese words like the letter "t" is common to english words; "Shi" is also a syllable/letter.
So in the end all the syllable pairings SHI+TA, SHI+TE, SHI+TI, SHI+TO, SHI+TSU sound like 'shit' at first but it makes the "T" part be separated from the SHI, and them make no 'shit' at all.
But it's funny how it sounds anyway, and the way it can be written in romaji (occidental alphabet).

xD I didnt even watch to the previews for the next episode so I pronounced it Kuro-shit-suji until I got the manga which they had titled Black Butler then I realized Black is pronounced "Kuro" and Butler is pronounced "Stuji" and was like... Epic fail

Lol I haven't read the manga yet... I was going to, but then I finished the second season and got really depressed. I didn't much like it. But yeah. My friend told me that what happened in Kuro II wasn't in the manga, so'll probs read it. ^.^

yea I only have the manga 1-3 (that may be because my bookstore here is so small) but I think Alois and Claude wern't ever in it :/ i know I've heard of alot of characters in the manga that didnt make it to the anime (Like "Wordsmith") I have no clue who he is but apperently he shows up in the manga later :/

That's pretty much what I thought when I first found out the title of this anime. I was like "....o_O Do I reeeaally wanna watch this?"
But now that I've watched every episode and read every chapter, you can't get me to stop loving it! ^_^
