In france, we have exams when teachers want, and its out of 20
for example, on my last english test, I got 20/20 ! I was so proud of myself ^^

We have tests/ exams like this : around 2/3 tests at every subject per half-school year (yeah, when teachers want)...and also every half-a year we have 2 exams wich are 25% of our semestrial (half-a year) grade on that subject : one exam at math and one at my home language: romanian ...
At the end of the year the semestrial grades cummulate in the final grade !!! Pretty hard to explain... so my final grade is:
semestrial grade (math+romanian+history+religion+sport+engish+french+biology+ drawing art+music first semestrial gardes)
+
second semester grade (math+romanian+history+religion+sport+engish+french+biology+ drawing art+music second semestrial gardes)
= MY FINAL GRADEEEEEEE!!!

In france we have tests when teachers says they want us to make a test (and I don't like that at all...), and then, we have a big exam in the end of the year, but only for the 4th year of what we call the 'collรจge' (around 11-15 years old, the ones who have this exam are the ones in the last year). there is an exam in history, one in french (of course) and one in maths. If we don't pass the exam, we can't go to highschool. of course, in highschool, there is a second test, really really really bogger than the prevent one. My sister is gonna pass it this year. it's in two parts, first, history and french, then, maths,sport, languages (depending on what you choose two years before, it can be italian, spanish, english, etc...) and one other depending on the option you choose a year after (sciences, biology, technology etc...)
and then school is over !
