I think the problem with the frame, is that it looks like there are three separate parts to it, the flower, the square frame, and the pretty shapes in the top right corner. It doesn't seem to be all part of the same frame or even style.
To stick with thee three elements, i'd suggest a thicker base frame, shaded, even a basic gradient of light to dark, one or two much smaller flowers in the top left corner with the shapes (or even just petals), and in the other corners, add a few diamond etchings like the original pretty shapes.

I completely agree with you - the three seperate parts doesnt ~flow~ enough together, they don't blend in. Of course I shouldve tried to mix them up together! Gah, silly me. I'll try to take this with me for the next time I try a frame. Thank you thank you!
