Description Happy (belated) Chinese New Year!

Did the sketch before the Chinese New Year, but never gotten around to finalising it. But YAY I finished it last night! First drawing of the year! Featuring Maniwa Houou, the head of Maniwani!

Since it is the year of the Dragon I thought I should draw something with a dragon, and you cannot draw a dragon without a Phoenix (Houou)! Ok, my chinese isn't that great, but I interpret the chinese as Dragon & Phoenix symbolises good luck.

Ohhhh also, please ignore the fact that my dragon having the wrong horns. orz Can't be help since I haven't been online for at least 2 weeks! And I can't be bothered to change anything anymore after spending 2 hours (while watching TV) drawing the scales for the dragon (Should have drawn the scales bigger... next time).

Had notice that I seems to become rusty with drawing... (Too much gaming...? o.o) they seems to carry the chibi-ness to them.

lol At the beginning of the year I "planned" to draw Maniwani ninjas each month. Got kinda distracted by other anime/fandoms and the lack of Katanagatari fans out there (I need 1 more Maniwani ninja cosplayer than I have the troop with the mains!). orz But YES! Need MOAR Katanagatari fanarts!!!

Just recently been getting on to DeviantArt, and I've been browsing around for pictures of my favorite anime....and wow this one is one of the best Katanagatari pics I've seen. Not to mention that Houou was a boss.

Thank you! Houou is my favourite character of the series! Pity not enough people know the series. I originally planned to do the rest of the Maniwani... probably one day...

That dragon is amazing, especially the details of it's face and scales. I also like the smoothness of the lines, very nice.

Thank you Cloud! Actually I think the dragon's face could be done better (This is not the first time I draw dragon. ), it's abit flat here and not old enough. orz Anyhow, I don't think I'll be drawing another dragon anytime soon.
