I'm here!
Hi guys - it's been a while since my last upload here. I've been posting a lot of daily art on my instagram though so if you like sketches and WIPs that's the place to be Also I've been uploading to youtube so that has kept me occupied OwO' ....... I'm still practicing very hard on backgrounds so my paintings will seem less static and tell more story C:

Hmm, I agree about the pose being a bit awkward. And why is the witch in the snowy mountains? She's not dressed for the weather. I like her face and the bats though, gives out an ominous feeling. But the background, as nice as it is, is too cheerful for that. Maybe if you chose another scenery... But you're improving, that much I can say, the effort you've put into details is really showing. Good job.

I forget sometimes that others don't have the stories in my mind which I have. In most of my stories, witches were exiled to the mountains - but since they never get cold they mostly don't dress up for the weather. But you are right....as beautiful as the colors might seem, it does seem a little too cheerful considering the theme (bats and dark magic). I think maybe...... maybe if I focused on making it sunSET instead of sunRISE, there might actually have been a completely different feel. Or maybe some dark clouds in the sunset. That would actually maybe have been better now that I think about it

Wow! The lineart, expression, and coloring are all fantastic! I love the blurring on the flying creatures; it looks like real movement being captured! The pallette is gorgeous too! But, one critique: The pose is very awkward and contorted. To bend that much, the hips would need to be angled away a bit; spines aren't generally that flexible. It could have been at least a bit remedied by moving the belt decoration to the side a bit, and also having the white stripe on the top mirroring the curve of her spine outward from it. Cuz like this, it just looks like she's one of those dolls where the torso rotates above the hips as a separate piece, not as part of an organic body.
Otherwise awesome though! Just gotta work on anatomy/positions.

But you are right! Originally I had cropped the image in a very awkward line, so instead I extended the image and added from her torso and down. I knew something was a little.....off/forced when I was making it but I didn't think of it further - but now that you mention the loose-hips-doll-rotation I see it!!! I completely see what you mean...and it...does look odd xD
